The last six months have been insane. I wrote a YA queer romance book called The Extraordinaries about a boy named Nick who has an obsession with superheroes that protect his city (he writes fanfiction about them), his bisexual best friend Seth (who may or may not be the love of his life), their two friends Jazz and Gibby, two queer girls in a healthy relationship.
I wanted to tell a story about finding a way to be extraordinary without having to actually *be* an Extraordinary. And I wanted it to be so fucking gay, it would shoot rainbows every time you opened it.
I wanted to do something different with this book.
So I got an agent. And Deidre Knight went ALL OUT for me. She is amazing.
Which leads to this:
The Extraordinaries was sold in a huge three book deal last week to Tor Teen. It was then sold *again* in a similar deal to Hodder & Stoughton in the UK.
This is the biggest thing that's ever happened to me. And I couldn't be more thrilled. To everyone who has supported my work in the last near seven (!!) years, I say thank you. You helped to make this possible.
